the moon is following me
we are living in a fast paced mode life now, technology is in its zenith to make our day to day existense much more comfortable. everyday science takes a huge leap from where its at and what seems impossible decades ago is now very workable (they even mutate our known God-made animals today into for me is man-made monsters).
i admit that yeah, technology alleviates most of the things that needs to be improved, and now it is what we consider as magic. science can create magic by now choosing how a person looks like (like we’ve now equated beauty with self esteem, the more attractive you look the more you feel good about yourself and the more you think you are being admired by many), by making clones, by generating robots, making them move and even think like humans.
im not saying science is bad, it gives a lot of advancement to our lives. but then i think some men are overdoing it, and what’s suppose to be a progress/growth/evolution of this world is actually a relapse. i mean, look around and you’ll notice how how dense the smoke is suspended in the air of the metro (the fog that we used to know now combined with smoke that now is called smog…sad), when you look at the skies now, you’ll also see a gang of electric wires, interweaving with each other as if to accentuate the smog above…(sadder).
not to mention most of the food that we gobble everyday that aside from it walking with bacteria, it is also considered a home of various chemicals which in time will give us cancer or its fellow ailments…(saddest).
but still science is the modern magic to most of us …and has accepted that fact.
do you still remember, when we’re still kid and still deem that the moon is following us? how about when you put a huge shell in your ear and believe it is the sea you are hearing? do you still count the stars, until you get lost with their myriad number and start all over again? have you noticed the so called “tres marias”? are you still fascinated when the breath-taking sun sets in manila bay and think it only hides under the sea?
do you miss those things? when ignorance is still what you believe is magic? have we outgrown them?
i think even how far science soar, ill never get tired being fascinated by the sun, the sea…and ill never stop believing that the moon is following me.
